A courageous employee of a Manhattan Beach jewelry store intervened to stop a bunch of robbers, setting off a spectacular series of events. The employee in the smash-and-grab heist is shown on camera shooting at least one bullet at the suspects, forcing them to quickly escape the area.

The event happened at Prestige Jewelers, which is located on N Sepulveda Boulevard, on a Saturday shortly after lunchtime. Five people stormed into the business, as shown on the security footage, as several staff were helping a couple. A sixth individual—possibly a man—seems to be keeping the door open for the group from another camera viewpoint.

"The robbers immediately start smashing glass cases with hammers, snatching merchandise and placing them in black plastic bins."

One of the staff members draws a pistol and shoots the suspects, at least once, very immediately. The gunshots cause the burglars to flee the business, making their swift getaway in a number of parked automobiles. Although the suspects' descriptions have not yet been made public by the authorities, the camera footage indicates that the most of them were donning masks, gloves, and hoodies. It is yet unknown if any of them were struck by the gunshots.

Fortunately, there were no other worker injuries recorded during the event. Nonetheless, Prestige Jewelers has been the subject of attacks before. In 2014, there was another similar heist at the business. On this occasion, nevertheless, the proprietors are optimistic that the security footage would help the authorities apprehend the accused.

It is recommended that anybody with information about the event call the Manhattan Beach Police Department Tip Line at 310-802-5171 or Detective Hartnell at 310-802-5127. You may also use their website or call (800) 222-8477 to provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.

This event is a clear reminder that theft and burglary are still serious problems in the open. Strict security protocols and a strong feeling of alertness are essential for firms, especially those handling precious goods.
